I have a successful track record of revenue expansion and diversification, creating new philanthropic initiatives and developing communication strategies that results in increased revenue, visibility and engagement.


Development

Leadership

  • Established the first development department for three nonprofits.

  • Consistently named in a leadership role as Director at each nonprofit I’ve served.

  • Held the responsibility of interim Executive Director for three nonprofits.

  • Responsible for growing and managing balanced budget of more than $750,000, an increase of $250K, as interim executive director, in less than nine months.

Individual Giving

  • Exceeded goal for innovative Unrestricted Giving Campaign for organization, raising $120K in two months.

  • Formalized Monthly Giving Campaign and increased revenue by 100% in six months.

Major Gifts and Planned Giving Programs

  • Established and managed successful major donor programs for three nonprofits which diversified revenue and increased future sustainability.

  •  Secured several significant Planned Gifts including a $500,000 estate gift and CARE USA’s largest contribution to date, a $27M legacy gift for girls’ education in developing countries.

Corporate Programs

  • Increased giving by an average of 30% via cause-related marketing by refreshing and fortifying relationships with corporations such as Starbucks Coffee Company, Alaska Air, Boeing and Weyerhaeuser.

Board Solutions

  • Developed a Recruitment Initiative that doubled board of directors from 6 to 12 - 50% were directors of color.

  • Created content for and facilitated 100+ online orientations and coaching sessions for board members, staff and partners. This led to increased network-wide engagement and more successful partner recruitment.

  • Developed five Annual Board Giving Campaigns, secured pledges and fundraising commitments with 100% financial participation and increased board participation.

Grants

  • Developed and leveraged relationships with board members to gain access to new, lapsed and renewed corporate and foundation funders.

  • Diversified grant-making by introducing equity and diversity platform for Washington Women’s Foundation. Served on Diversity Partner Grant Committee for three years.

Events

  • Produced a plethora of events including: statewide campaigns (recruited and managed over 650 volunteers, raised $100K in a day); intimate, dynamic major donor house parties, raising $50K in an evening; marquee galas with silent, live and digital auctions; and grassroots community events from bowling to billiard tournaments.

  • Built and managed advisory and working committees, table captains, production support and day-of-events volunteers.

 

Communications

Strategy 

  • Developed and implemented network-wide global communication strategy for new affiliate fee structure model to substantially increase sustainable annual revenue.

Branding

Video Production

  • Produced more than ten marketing and fundraising videos for nonprofits for fundraising, recruitment, campaigns and engagement.

  • Secured probono video production and led direction on 19 video clips of high net worth donors sharing their personal stories of engagement - as a tool for partner recruitment and major gifts.

Marketing and Promotion

  • Conducted promotional marketing for 6 international conferences and leadership training events.

  • Increased value of corporate sponsorships by leveraging storytelling in social media marketing.

  • Consistently empowered board members and volunteers in solicitation and recruitment by providing customizable messaging.  

Digital

  • Designed/launched first digital peer-to-peer campaign raising $20,000 in one week, exceeded goal by 100%

  • Produced enewsletters and digital appeals using various platforms for cultivation, solicitation and stewardship.

  • Managed social media engagement and storytelling - increased participation by 100%.

Media Relations    

  • Secured 45+ media exposures in six months as communications lead for $1.25 million Gates Foundation-funded early learning initiative.

  • Garnered 150+ television, radio and print interviews throughout career.

Website Development

  • Populated primary global network website and affiliate website template with content and images using WordPress. Provided 60+ remote trainings for Executive Directors and key volunteers.

Collateral

  • Conceived and executed customizable collateral templates (annual reports, FAQs)

  • Curated high quality collateral and managed library for 39 global affiliate organizations.
